David Kessler serves as the Co-Managing Principal of Reznick Group’s Bethesda office and is the chair of the firm’s National Commercial Real Estate Practice. David has more than 26 years of experience providing audit, tax and management advisory services to the real estate and financial services industries, representing clients both locally and nationally.
He represents both public and private clients, including developers, real estate funds, mortgage companies, owners, management companies, investors, REITs, private equity and hedge funds, and government agencies. His clients operate and develop hotels, multi-family rentals, condo conversions, office buildings, nursing homes, land development, retail, military housing and industrial.
David is responsible for all aspects of audit and management advisory service engagements including the planning and coordination with the client’s finance and management personnel, and internally at Reznick Group. He has extensive technical and practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), and OMB Circular A-133.
David is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and Georgetown University where he teaches a real estate accounting course for the Masters of Real Estate Development graduate programs. He has spoken at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants real estate conference and speaks frequently at various real estate industry conferences.
