
Sue O’Shea is a principal in Reznick Group’s tax practice with more than 27 years of experience of diversified tax practice with an emphasis on the real estate industry and income and estate tax planning for individuals. She has experience in diversified tax services including work on tax planning and compliance work for partnerships, corporations, real estate investment trusts (REITs), individuals, trusts and estates. She also is adept at resolving tax controversies with the IRS and state taxing authorities.
Many of Sue’s clients are high-net-worth individuals with extensive real estate interests. She has dealt with commercial real estate activities, construction, real estate development, installment sales, like-kind exchanges, debt modification and discharge issues, related party issues, at-risk issues, bankruptcy estates, partnership basis and allocation issues, limited liability companies, S corporation issues such as basis and built-in gains tax, and multi-state taxation issues. Sue also has developed and presented numerous internal training courses related to various partnership, real estate, and individual tax planning issues. Prior to joining Reznick Group, Sue worked as an auditor at one of the Big Four accounting firms, an accounting manager at Sallie Mae and worked in financial management for USAID.
