Lee E. Winslett, Wells Fargo’s New Markets Tax Credit Group

Lee Winslett is the National Director for Wells Fargo’s New Markets Tax Credit Group where he leads a team of specialized lenders focused exclusively on the asset class. The NMTC team, which provides both debt and tax credit equity to urban and rural low-income communities, has completed approximately $700 million in transactions since the 2003. The portfolio includes investments in mixed-use, transit-oriented developments, high-impact real estate projects, community facilities, and financial intermediaries that provide loans to small businesses. Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Winslett held a variety of positions at Wells Fargo and a predecessor institution in its commercial and real estate lending areas representing a span of nearly 20 years in banking.

Mr. Winslett is actively involved in civic affairs, having served as a board member on several housing and economic development related non-profits. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation, a San Diego, California based non-profit housing developer, and Shorebank Enterprise Cascadia, a Community Development Financial Institution operating principally in the rural Pacific Northwest. Recently, Mr. Winslett has been invited to be a member of a blue ribbon task force, the California Urban Economic Development Roundtable by the State of California, where he will lend his expertise in the creation of wealth, educational, and investment opportunities for members of the traditionally disenfranchised segments of our society.

Mr. Winslett received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics from the University of California Los Angeles. He resides in San Diego with his wife and has two thriving adult children including a son serving in Afghanistan as a Marine and a son who serves his community as a youth dance instructor.
